2017-2018 Scholarship Program

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2017-2018 scholarship program.

Our scholarship program supports local students by providing financial aid to assist them in their educational endeavors. There are three scholarships available in 2017 valued at $2,000 each. Each scholarship will be awarded to different applicants.

2017 Scholarship Winners

Vigil Bullying Prevention Scholarship: You have just been sworn into office and take a seat at your desk as the Governor of New Mexico. On the agenda: Bullying. According to DoSomething.Org, over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year. How would you ensure your efforts would work to prohibit bullying today and in the future?

Future of Fraud: Fraud never rests. Assess the current climate of fraud and propose an innovative solution to prevent fraud in the future. What solutions would you propose to stop the evolution of fraud?

Future of Credit Unions: The Board of Directors at the credit union you’ve been a member at since you were a child has just agreed you will now be the CEO of the oldest credit union in New Mexico. What are the top three issues facing the credit union industry? If you were the CEO of a credit union, what would you do to maintain or extend the credit union philosophy of “People Helping People”?

Scholarship Information
Students may apply for more than one scholarship, but can only be awarded one scholarship per year. To be eligible, students must plan to enroll in the fall of 2017 in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or trade/vocational school. Full-time undergraduate students already enrolled at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or trade/vocational school are also eligible. Students must agree to the use of their name and photograph for publication by U.S. Eagle relating to this program. Applicants must be members, or relative of a current member at U.S. Eagle. Employees, volunteers, and immediate family members of employees at U.S. Eagle are not eligible.

General Scholarship Application Requirements:

  • Completed Application (see links to individual scholarships below)
  • Video or Essay expanding on selected scholarship category
  • Two Letters of Recommendation
  • Parent/Guardian Release (If applicant is under the age of 18)
  • Applicant must be a member of U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union or a relative of a member
